Auto-repair is the automatic correction of repairable mesh errors in production files, such as closing small holes, removing isolated fragments and fixing inconsistent normals. Auto-repair restores the geometric integrity of a file. Manufacturing problems such as insufficient wall thickness, undercuts or margin line defects require a design change and cannot be repaired automatically.
Where is the limit of auto-repair?
At design intent. Software may fix defects that do not change the design. Anything that affects the shape of the part must go back to the designer, documented.
